5 new brands for 2015

With the summer coming up and the influx of flat shoes and platform heels seen on the runway I thought why not tickle your tastebuds with new designers - sure to get people wondering where you bought your new shoes from. I always like to explore what’s available so I don’t end up buying all my shoes from Zara, Topshop or Miss Selfridge (although I always end up doing so) because lets face it there are some great new brands out there, I guess the difficulty is finding them. So I have picked out 5 brands and designers ranging from price and YOUniqueness (cringe) that all fit in for the summer and new trends.

To start up with, Yvonne Kone; I started following this beautiful lady on Instagram about a year ago after I spotted her beautiful African print flat rubber shoes - I’m absolutely obsessed with prints and they work best if you have a simple dress sense but would like to add a pop of colour. Since then I’ve watched her brand grow from strength to strength (via instagram - she regularly posts which is great to see what the brand is up to with designing, travelling and what latest styles are being added to the collection) with updates on a new store opening, new prints and leathers bags. One thing my dad always used to say and has stuck with me is that good leather shoes last for a lifetime and the more they age the better they look, its something  I live by and Yvonne Kone knows her leather, whether its prints or suedes. Her style is very neat and simple even when she is using prints which for me is the reason why they work. She has a very refined concept for her shoes and her brand shows it.

I first clapped my eyes on a pair of Kat Maconie shoes when Millie Mackintosh from Made in Chelsea wore a pair of her boots to a runway show a couple seasons back at Somerset House. Since, I have seen them accompany many runway shows including Charlie May, Fyodor Golan and most recently at the FelderFelder AW15 show in London. The distinguished style of square block heeled platforms, with metallic and luminous colour ways are hard to miss and fit right in to the 70’s look that will take a hold of us this summer. Be sure to check out her website as there are some great deals to be had with the final reductions.

A couple weeks ago Public Desire came to my attention when they came up on my popular page on Instagram. They are a global footwear brand that mean you can look stylish without breaking the bank. Which is why they are the ones to look out for this summer and beyond. I’m all for beautifully made shoes, but with the seasons the way they are in London and how fast fashion moves  these days it seems silly to pay absurd amounts on super expensive shoes that will only get a few wears because you are to worried about ruining them or getting them wet especially with the random down pours in our english “summers” Head to the website to check out what they have to offer, they are bang on trend and they ship worldwide, and if that doesn’t entice you enough they have deals regularly so don’t miss out this summer!

Ed and Will are relatively new into the luxury footwear scene and are based in Barcelona. They started working on their line of footwear in 2013 and have released a small but high profile range. The designs are in keeping with their classic elegant and simplistic ethos and I’m completely in love with the Duna Sandals - just perfect for the summer, they are beautifully made and I’m really looking forward to their next range.

Short for Attilio Giusti Leombruni (you can see why they have  shortened to AGL Shoes - bit of a tongue twister hey?) are a new brand headed by the Giusti sisters that I recently saw on the MFW presentation schedule while I was streaming the Milan shows for AW15.  I have pegged them as ones to look out for as their range of brogues, flat sandals and moccasins are bang on trend which are set to make a massive come back in the coming seasons. They already have a steadily growing 4k following on Instagram with the likes of Naomi Watts and Dakota Fanning (the Giusti sisters muse for their SS15 range) wearing their shoes. When the likes of A list actors are donning the sisters footwear there is no guessing as to why they are the celebs first stop for flat stylish and elegant shoes.
